Cookies
Last updated 8 October 2026. This site sets no cookies. It counts page views without storing anything on your device, and it keeps your light or dark mode choice only if you make one.
What we use
No cookies. The only thing this website keeps on your device is your choice of light or dark mode, and only after you press the switch at the top of the page. It is kept in your browser's local storage under the name "theme", holds the word "light" or "dark", stays until you clear it, and never leaves your device. We do not use it to recognise you. Until you press the switch, the site follows your device's own setting and keeps nothing.
Visitor statistics
We count page views with Cloudflare Web Analytics. Its script stores nothing on your device and reads no cookies or local storage. For each page view it records the page address, the website that linked you to it, your browser and device type, your country and how quickly the page loaded. Cloudflare drops your IP address at its nearest data centre and does not keep it for this. We see only totals, never a record of one visitor, and we do not use them to measure adverts.
The site also notes, inside your browser, when someone clicks a main button, opens an answer, starts or sends a form, or scrolls down a page. Today none of that is sent anywhere. If we start collecting it, this page will say where it goes before we do.
We use no other technologies of this kind, such as advertising pixels, session recording or device fingerprinting. We have also left out chat widgets, embedded videos and maps, and scripts from other companies' servers apart from Cloudflare's statistics script (our fonts are kept on our own server).
How this affects you
You will not see a cookie banner here. The colour mode setting only remembers a choice you made yourself, and the statistics are simple totals that store nothing on your device. UK law allows statistics like these without asking first, as long as we tell you about them and you can say no.
To say no, use the button below. Your browser then keeps one small setting, named "ncs-stats-off", so we remember your choice; nothing else changes. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we never count your visits.
To remove your colour mode choice or your statistics choice, clear this site's data in your browser settings. The site then follows your device's setting again and counts your visits again.
Your browser may keep copies of our pages, fonts and images in its cache so they load faster next time. That is your browser's normal behaviour. We do not use it to recognise you, and you can clear it in your browser settings whenever you like.
Our hosting provider, Railway, does record basic technical details of each visit, such as your IP address, in request logs on its servers. Nothing is stored on your device for that. Our privacy notice explains what is logged and how long it is kept.
When you follow a link to another website, such as Companies House, that site's own cookie rules apply.
What would change this
We might one day add something else that stores or reads information on your device, such as a booking calendar or an embedded video. Before it goes live, we will:
- update this page to name the tool and say what it stores, why, and for how long
- update our privacy notice to say what data the tool collects and who receives it
- ask for your consent first wherever the law requires it, with a button to reject that is as easy to use as the one to accept
- add a link at the bottom of every page so you can change your choice later
